Jose Sierra, 18, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013 in Dalhart, Texas
Prayer Vigil was held at 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Anthony’s of Padua Catholic Church. with Monsignor Michael Colwell, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, Texas.
Jose Eloy Sierra was born June 16, 1994 in Torrrington, Wyoming to Joe and Alma (Olivas) Sierra. Jose and his family moved to Hartley, TX in 1997. He attended school at Hartley until the sixth grade. The family then moved to Dalhart where Jose graduated from Dalhart High School in 2012. All through school he played all sports but his true passion was baseball. Jose was attending Amarillo College and majoring in Business Administration. His favorite hobby was baseball and riding his motorcycle.
Jose's motivators were his parents, his wife, Sandra, and his baby girl “Aubree”, they meant the world to him. He believed in the law of traction and his favorite saying was “what goes around, comes around”. He will be remembered as a loving, giving and caring son, brother, father, husband and for being a true friend.
Survivors include his parents Joe and Alma Sierra of Dalhart, TX his wife Sandra Gutierrez of Dalhart, TX his daughter “Baby Aubree” Sierra of Dalhart, TX – three sisters: Lupe Olivas of Amarillo, TX., Misty Sierra of Cannon City, CO and Kristy Sierra of Lamar, CO. as well as a brother Joseph M. Sierra of Eads, CO., grandparents , Esteban Olivas and Maria Vega of Chihuahua, MX and Mary Montoya of Johnson, KS and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
