Curtis Paul Ritchey, 75, died Friday, December 14, 2012 in Amarillo, Texas.
Services were held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 17, 2012 at Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, Texas. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Horizon Funeral Home, Dalhart, TX
Officiating was Rusty Hancock, Pastor, Lincoln Street Baptist Church, Dalhart, TX .
Curtis Ritchey was born in Dallam County on November 15, 1937 to Arthur and Gladys (Peden) Ritchey. He helped his dad farm until he graduated from Dalhart High School in 1956. Curtis married Mary Lou Field on March 9 1957. They celebrated 50 years together in March of 2007.
Curtis was a farmer, parts-man, and eventually owned WW irrigation for over 20 years before retiring in 2006.
He loved the Lord and he loved being surrounded by his family, but his grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a special place in his heart.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou, of Dalhart, TX, sons – Wes and his wife Melissa, Wade and his wife Melissa all of Dalhart, TX , his daughters Celle Hancock and her husband Rusty of Dalhart, TX and Christi Bass and her husband John of Amarillo, TX
9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 step-great grandchildren, - sisters – Barbara Crim and her husband Max, Irene Ritchey, DeeAnn Bauman and her husband John – brother Don Ritchey and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents and one nephew.
