Lawrence Bower, 73, died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Dalhart, TX

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev Steve Patterson, Pastor, Central United Methodist Church, Dalhart, Texas.

Burial was on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 1:00 PM in Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, Truxton, MO.

Lawrence was born February 16, 1939 in Truxton, MO to William and Emma (Hapes) Bower. He grew up in Truxton and graduated from Troy High School in Troy, MO in 1956. Mr. Bower farmed in Missouri before joining the US Army in 1962, while stationed in Colorado Springs he married Darla Luelf. He began working for Farmland Co-Op in Missouri then transferred to Kansas before moving to Dalhart in 1993. Lawrence retired from the Co-Op in 2000. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife Darla of Dalhart, TX - sons - Michael L. Bower and his wife Nikki of Ulysses, KS, Brian L. Bower and his wife Sonya of Shawnee, KS. L. Jay Bower and his wife Kori of Nevada, MO. Granddaughters –Michele and her husband Adam Landing of Erie, PA, Sara Bower of Ulysses, KS, Emalie and Alison Bower of Nevada, MO Grandsons – Joshua Bower of Ulysses, KS, Kaden and Cullan Bower of Shawnee, KS and 2 Great Grandchildren. 2 sisters – Martha Winter of Warrenton, MO and Barbara Winter of Truxton, MO and a brother – Charles Bower of Warrenton, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents

Contributions may be made to the Central United Methodist Church Building Fund.
